answers to your frequently asked questions

  • We are located at 337 College Street in Burlington Vermont.

Off-street parking is available in the lot next to the building. There is a bike rack where you can lock up your bike near the sidewalk side of the building.

When you arrive please have a seat in the waiting room (directly across from the front door).

  • Yes! Parking is available on the Lakeside of the building. Please park in any spot with yellow lines.

  • Cancellation Policy: We understand that plans change. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, we ask for at least 24 hours notice. If you do not show for your appointment or cancel within this 24 hour window, full payment is required. Please contact sashakfinnell@gmail.com for any booking related questions.

Late Arrivals: Due to the nature of our work, it is crucial that we keep appointments running on time. This not only respects our time, it also respects your time and other client’s time. If you are late for your appointment, we are unable to add extra time and you will be charged full session rate. If there is open time after your appointment and you would like to add extra time on, you can do so at a fee of $25 per 15 minutes added.

  • This varies person to person and day to day what you will need. We recommend starting with the Therapeutic Massage if you are unsure. At each appointment we will briefly review your goals for massage. If there is another modality that meets your needs better we will recommend it to you.

  • This is different for each person and we understand how finances can play into scheduling a massage for yourself. Your Massage Therapist will have a recommendation for you at the end of your appointment. Check to see if you have an HSA for reimbursement or consider the monthly massage plan if finances are a concern.

  • It is much appreciated to arrive to your appointment clean. While you don’t need to shower right before your appointment, it can help you feel more cozy and start to relax your muscles even before you get onto the table.

  • Depending on the type of massage you selected, you will either be clothed or unclothed with sheet draping utilized. You will be given privacy to disrobe and get on the massage table. For Thai + Shiatsu it is best to wear comfortable + flexible clothing.

  • At this time, most insurance providers do not cover massage services. However, if you have a Health savings account (HSA) you may be able to be reimbursed. Make sure you receive a receipt for services.

  • Absolutely! Please be sure to communicate regarding pressure — we want to make sure we meet your body where it needs to be met.

Some folks find comfort in talking during the session, but don’t feel like you need to make conversation with your massage therapist. Remember, this is your time to relax and reset. Sometimes it helps relieve stress or anxiety to make conversation initially, try to let yourself sink into the massage eventually.

  • Tipping is not a requirement. We want our clients relaxed and enjoying our services, and not thinking about money during their treatment. If you want to give a little extra and are able to, it will certainly be appreciated, but we never want you to feel pressured to do so.

There are many ways to show appreciation other than tipping. Leaving a Google review or referring your therapist to others is an example of a huge way of saying thank you.

  • Please let us know if you have a fragrance allergy in the appointment comments when booking. Our sheets are laundered with fragrance free detergent. For our fragrance free clients, we use Sacred Earth Organic Massage Oil Blend (jojoba, sunflower, safflower, olive, vitamin E). We also have unscented raw Shea butter.

And if you are still feeling nervous about your fragrance allergy, you are welcome to bring your own products for us to try. Some folks have brought their own sheets just in case —hot tip, twin set sheets fit our table well enough and don’t forget the pillow case for the head rest.

  • First, please make sure you are clear with your healthcare provider to come in for a massage. Second, please come in! We have a 24 hour cancellation policy, however if you have an emergency (i.e. giving birth) we will certainly waive any late cancellation fees and see you on the other side.
